Chippewa Cree Election Field Narrows

ROCKY BOY AGENCY, Mont. (AP) — The top vote-getters for tribal chairman in the Chippewa Cree primary Tuesday were Raymond J. Parker Jr. and Jonathan Windy Boy.

They will square off in November's general election.

Parker collected 426 votes compared to 364 for Windy Boy.

Eight candidates also advanced from a field of 58 in the race for four council spots.

They are Brian Eagleman, Tim Koop, Bruce Sunchild, John Chance Houle, Alvin Windy Boy, Russell Standing Rock, Donovan Stump and Joseph LaFromboise.

The general election on the Rocky Boy's Reservation will be Nov. 4.
