NCAA Puts the Ball in the Wrong Court

The NCAA has now thrown the ball into the hands of the Tribes to prove that Fighting Sioux logo is hurtful to the people.

I lived in North Dakota for almost eight years. The t-shirts that are on display during large sporting events show graphic images that lower the bar on humanity.

This news is very upsetting.  It may be expensive for the University of North Dakota to purchase new uniforms but the benefit to humanity should out weigh the cost.
Earlier this year the University of Minnesota Gophers have stated they will not participate in events with the UND.

Giving UND two more years to drag this name through the mud compares the situation to covering up Native American genocide.

UND Fighting Sioux needs to go.

The NCAA has shown their lack of integrity. We already know that UND lacks integrity by using Native programs, scholarships, and funding to blackmail UND Native students, alumni, and Lakota/Dakota/Nakota people in order to perpetuate racist stereotypes. I am an alumni of UND and experience first-hand the environment which the mascot fosters. Removing the mascot is only the first step in addressing the lack of cultural awareness and respect on that campus. To MN Girl, the Irish can decide whether or not Fighting Irish is offensive to them. The Sioux Nations (L/D/Nakota) have stated repeatedly that this mascot is offensive and racist. Until UND stops acting like Custer (No Ears) - then they will be part of a negative and backward history.

Not saying I am for or

Not saying I am for or against either side I'd like you to think about this: should team mascots like the Notre Dame Fighting Irish get ride of their mascots because they are culturally demoralizing? It's just a thought.
Also, the University of Minnesota is baning all competition with UND except hockey. What kind of message does that send?
There are hypocrites on both sides. Its hard to decide who is right and who is wrong.
