Introduction to the Blogging World.

I’m an in a class here at Haskell; called feature writing. Our teacher wants to introduce us to the world of blogging; the so-called "blogosphere". I have never blogged before so this is a new experience for me. Even though I am only 21, it seems that I am a little technologically behind.

I suppose that I should start off with an introduction... I attend Haskell, where I am a junior in the American Indian Studies Program (pursuing my bachelors degree), and I am a member of the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma. I mostly grew up in Oklahoma, primarily in and around the Tulsa area.

I would like to have a long life with family and friends, and be able to be proud of the things I have accomplished when I am old. This is the main reason that I am attending college. When I am done with my education there are several things that I want to accomplish, I contribute something worthwhile to my family, my tribe and gett to see other countries (I really want to see Japan).

If I were to win the lottery, I would buy a house, a new car, new wardrobe, put some money in savings, help out my family and donate to a community outreach program.

Well I hope you got a good take on who I am, because I guess that I will be blogging a lot for class, so you’ll have to get used to me!

  • Tell us what you think about the 'Navajobama' T-shirt, and we'll send your comments to the manufacturer—and to the Obama for President campaign. (No profanities, please.)

  • Omission disappoints Native Americans attending the presidential candidate's speech in Wisconsin. Others express concern over Obama's stance on Indian gaming.

  • The Native actor’s role on 'Law and Order: SVU' is coming to an end, but he plans to stay busy with an Internet TV show, a book and a new baby.

  • A Tennessee high school, whose mascot is the Indians, takes the Native American motif one step further: It calls school grounds "The Reservation."

  • Native reaction to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain's vice presidential choice, is 'pretty mixed,' says one critic. A supporter says Palin 'has been open to and concerned about Alaska Native issues.'
