Edward's Eyes

These days my son is the one who is melting my heart.

I feel it when I see his rare, precious smiles. Or in the way he flaps his arms while sitting up on his own.

Actually, it’s in the way I feel his eyes follow me around; it makes me just want to love him and love him and love him!

I think it’s in the power of his eyes. Almond shaped and dark black irises. One of my favorite Navajo poets, Luci Tapahonso, has a poem titled, “Raisin Eyes,” that muses on Navajo eyes—in a different context. However, those two words describe the charm in Edward’s eyes.

Edward is just so cool. So calm. A very good baby! It’s his teeth, his feathery hair, soft skin, and his rosy, plump cheeks.

Maybe it’s in the wonder of the name: Momma’s boy. Is this the special bond between mother and son?

I try not to be partial in the ways I love my children but Edward is working some type of magic on me!

Rodney does the same to me

Rodney does the same to me too. I totally understand what you mean. It's funny, Jordan does see and she gets jealous.

Can't wait to read more.

Momma's Boy

I have a son and he melts my heart too! I initially wanted a girl and tried to hide the fact, even to myself, that I was slightly disappointed when he was a boy but now I can't imagine what it would be like without him. Your boy sounds beautiful, and I love the title to that poem you mentioned, "Raisin Eyes." I'll have to look that up.
