WASHINGTON—National Congress of American Indians President Joe A. Garcia will deliver the 8th annual State of Indian Nations address Feb. 10 at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian. The speech will coincide with the release of President Barack Obama's budget.
Themes will include Indian Country's priorities for the Obama administration and the 111th Congress; economic development; health care; the protection of American Indian tribal sovereignty; homeland security, and the many other issues currently facing Indian nations.
The speech is scheduled to start at noon EST and will be broadcast live on NCAI's Web site. Viewers are advised that they should log on to the site at least five minutes before the scheduled address.
It will also be carried on a number of Native radio stations. Please check your local listings.
