The community of Dulac, La., in Terrebonne Parish suffered some major damage from Hurricane Gustav, most from strong winds and floodwaters that affected some homes. Along Shrimper's Row, there were downed power lines and uprooted trees littering the highway and the roofs on some buildings had been torn away.
These photos were taken this week on a reporting visit to the United Houma Nation, which took a direct hit from the hurricane Sept. 1, and a tour of damaged Houma communities with Principal Chief Brenda Robichaux and Jamie Billiot, director of the Dulac Community Center.
