MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — A University of Montana professor has received a $10,000 teacher development grant from the McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation [1].
Professor Heather Bruce is director of the UM-based Montana Writing Project [2]. The grant, which is renewable for three years, will fund the project's initiative to help implement Indian Education for All in Montana's schools.
Through the initiative, Bruce will work with a group of teachers to help create a curriculum that helps improve students' reading, writing and research skills while learning about American Indians.
