Upper Sioux Meth Walk

This week the Upper Sioux had signs posted about their Meth Walk.  This walk is the second walk sponsored by the community.  On June 6th the  stomp out Meth Walk begins.  Many people participated last year in the event.  If your interested in participating in the walk you can arrive at the multipurpose building at the Upper Sioux at 8 am on June 6, 2008.  They will be giving out shirts for people who participate.  A noon lunch will also be served.

Prairie View Campground highlights

The Prairie View RV Park and Campground has every thing a camper desires.  People can sit in their trailer and type on the wireless internet while doing laundry, swimming, or painting.  It is peacefull and offers a shuttle service for guests.  Ryan works in the office at the campground and has many pamphlets on activities for the area.  Several of the other campers commented on how nice the park is kept up.  Each site has a picnic table and fire pit.  They also have a rustic area for people who like to tent.  The tree's provide a nice shelter.

  • Tell us what you think about the 'Navajobama' T-shirt, and we'll send your comments to the manufacturer—and to the Obama for President campaign. (No profanities, please.)

  • A Native American gay wedding ceremony takes place at a Two Spirit gathering in Montana.

  • Omission disappoints Native Americans attending the presidential candidate's speech in Wisconsin. Others express concern over Obama's stance on Indian gaming.

  • A Tennessee high school, whose mascot is the Indians, takes the Native American motif one step further: It calls school grounds "The Reservation."

  • The Native actor’s role on 'Law and Order: SVU' is coming to an end, but he plans to stay busy with an Internet TV show, a book and a new baby.
