Inuit Are Living on the Front Lines of Climate Change
Inuit Are Living on the Front Lines of Climate Change

People in a wide circle at the top of the world, including the 800 Inuvialuit, or Inuit, of the village they know as "Tuk," are feeling the effects of global warming.

Summer Is Melting Expanses of Arctic Ice

The Arctic Ocean has given up tens of thousands more square miles of ice in a relentless summer of melt, with scientists watching through satellite eyes for a possible record low polar ice cap.

I Just Hope It Catches On

The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes have long been a source of inspiration and innovation for area Tribes.  Attempts to adopt their business model haven't always been successful, but I do hope that the latest CSKT action will catch on with the rest of the Montana Tribes.  America has always put upon its citizens, sovreign or otherwise, that it needs to be a ridiculously productive creature more willing to give up personal time in the pursuit of a paycheck.  That's one of the many factors that ended with America being the world's worst polluter.

Inupiat tribal members flee from global warming induced flood

If global warming doesn't exist, then they moved to get away from the non-existent flood waters that wasn't capable of drowning them.

Flip-Flops in December, How Weird Is That?

Today I wore flip-flops.

This may not seem blog-worthy, but it's December!

Shouldn't there be snow on the Nebraska landscape? Shouldn't it be so bitterly crisp that I need more than my fleece jacket to keep warm?

I'm not sure what the correct answers to that question are, but I'd like to defer to Al Gore instead.

After walking around sweaty today because I was dressed too appropriately for the winter season - with a scarf, turtleneck, and heavy jacket - I have to agree that there is a lot of credence to global warming.

  • Tell us what you think about the 'Navajobama' T-shirt, and we'll send your comments to the manufacturer—and to the Obama for President campaign. (No profanities, please.)

  • Omission disappoints Native Americans attending the presidential candidate's speech in Wisconsin. Others express concern over Obama's stance on Indian gaming.

  • The Native actor’s role on 'Law and Order: SVU' is coming to an end, but he plans to stay busy with an Internet TV show, a book and a new baby.

  • A Tennessee high school, whose mascot is the Indians, takes the Native American motif one step further: It calls school grounds "The Reservation."

  • Native reaction to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain's vice presidential choice, is 'pretty mixed,' says one critic. A supporter says Palin 'has been open to and concerned about Alaska Native issues.'
