Feather & Pen Mightier than Sword: Honoring Native American Journalism Pioneers

Four Native American reporters/editors were recognized as 2007 closed for their pioneering efforts in journalism on and off the rez. They are Tim Giago, Elizabeth Gray, Amanda Takes War Bonnet, and Avis Little Eagle.

These editors have documented the under-reported good news in American Indian communities, they reported stories the white media refused to print, and have the bravery to report on corruption in Native American governments and organizations.

One even has his offices firebombed.
